Detail, selective color

Detail, selective color, photo by Mary Stebbins. This is rather subtle and didn't show up in the last one because it was so much smaller than the one I'd been working with, so I am posting a detail. I guess some pictures just don't work small.

The only problem I find with these kinds of approaches is they either don't show up well...like you noted or they don't look real enough for me. YET saying all that I still like the photo very much!! And I find that with most folks work I like it when it is theres but don't like it when it is mine? Weird I know. That is not always the case, but it is sometimes. I think this friend of yours Keith is a VERY interesting character and he would be a gem to photograph!!!

Keith is my fiance, but I could loan him to you to photograph, LOL! He's an extremely cooperative model!

(He's in Detroit).

I never did any selective color before, but everyone was doing it and I wanted to try it and was experimenting with different ways to do it.

You're right, it doesn't always work well. But it was fun to play with.
